Reno County Sabres Blast Norwich, Improve to 2-0

The Reno County Sabres Homeschool football team blasted Norwich 60-14 in an eight-man game Friday night at Norwich.

The Sabres improved to 2-0.

Norwich scored on its first play of the game on a 65-yard touchdown run by Easton Schroeder.

Reno County scored on its first drive on two plays. The second play was a 42-yard TD pass from Bo Smith to cousin Colt Smith. Both are juniors.

After that, Reno County kept the ball mainly on the ground.

The Sabres led 29-6 in the first quarter, 42-14 at halftime and 60-14 after three periods. The game ended near the end of the third quarter due to the 45-point rule.

Bo Smith completed 6-of-9 passes for 103 yards with one TD and one interception. He also rushed for 138 yards on seven carries, including three TDs.

Freshman Rock Smith carried the ball 10 times for 195 yards and three TDs.

Colt Smith caught 1 pass for 42 yards and senior Sam Loewen caught 2 passes for 32 yards.

The Sabres play Fairfield next Friday night at Langdon.

Fairfield lost to Pratt-Skyline 57-12 Friday at Pratt.
