Buhler Varsity, JV Tennis Teams Compete in Trinity, Circle, Buhler Tournaments

It was a busy Thursday for the Buhler High School girls varsity and junior varsity tennis players Thursday.

Crusader varsity players won the Circle tournament title and placed second at the Trinity Classic (35 points) on the Hutchinson Trinity Catholic tennis courts.

The Buhler High School Maroon squad placed fourth and the Buhler Black team placed eighth at the Buhler Junior Varsity Invitational.

At the Circle Varsity Invitational, Sofia Spies placed first at No. 1 singles and Ella Gillespie placed first at No. 2 singles.

The No. 2 doubles team of Katelyn Harding and Addy Tech placed second. The No. 1doubles team of Emily Allen and Kylee Bradshaw placed third.

Buhler swept the doubles divisions at the Trinity meet. Danyka Sutton and Payton Barnes won No. 1 doubles and Hannah Kinast and Payton Thompson won No. 2 doubles.

The Crusaders’ Audrey Koster placed second at No. 1 singles and Brailey McIntire was second at No. 2 singles.

The Buhler High School Maroon squad placed fourth and the Buhler Black team placed eighth at the Buhler Junior Varsity Invitational Thursday.

Aslynn Chambers, playing for Buhler Maroon, placed second at No. 2 singles.

The Buhler Maroon team placed fifth in the other three divisions: Nora Busenbark, No. 1 singles; Megan Hatch and Evey Brooks, No. 1 doubles; and McKenzie Hamel and Tesslyn Strawn, No. 2 doubles.

Madlyn Moore and Amauri McCoy, playing for Buhler Black, placed sixth at No. 2 doubles.

The Buhler Black team placed eighth in the other three divisions: Naomi Cano, No. 1 singles; Abigail Ehret, No. 2 singles; and Macie Proffitt and Elin Glassman, No. 1 doubles.

Buhler’s Jenna Proffitt, playing for Hutchinson High School, placed seventh in No. 2 singles.
