McPHERSON, Kan. — One more change order on the Euclid extension of the Elm Street Drainage project was approved by the McPherson City Commission Tuesday. This change order reduced the contract amount by $8,261.37 to reflect actual quantities used on the project by Vogts-Parga Construction.
It also approved a change order on the contract with Prairie Landworks for the Deerfield Estates South project reflecting a contract deduction of $68.679.20 to remove sidewalks construction from the contract, as this will be part of the contracts between developer and home builder Liberty Communities.
A new contract for agenda software used by the city of McPherson was approved. The current BoardDocs program through Diligent Corporation is being discontinued at the end of the year, and after reviewing three proposals it opted to go with a new project through Diligent that will have a 2026 cost of $10,000 which staff felt was the best option at this time.
This approval is being done now to allow time to migrate what is now on BoardDocs to the new product that will be more user friendly and has the capability to have up to five separately managed boards.
The Commission approved payment of $3,230 to Kansas Golf and Turf for the 2025 Mark Reese Memorial Golf Tournament and the CHS Tournament. The Commission approved the hiring of a temporary worker at Turkey Creek Golf Course and a step increase for a horticulturist on her completion of a backflow certification course.
An event request was approved for the McPherson College CARS Club to hold a cruise-in event Friday, September 26th in connection with Homecoming activities. This involves the closing of Main Street from Kansas Avenue north to the railroad tracks from 5:30 until 8 PM.
It also approved renewal of cereal malt beverage licenses for the East Kansas Pizza Hut for consumption on the premises, and for the 24/7 Travel Store for package sales, and was introduced to new Police patrol officer Ian Bartlett and welcomed back officer Matt Amelkin from military duty.
