There is now a declared candidate for 73rd District Kansas House of Representatives next year, and it’s someone who has briefly been there before. Lori Shultz of Lindsborg announced her candidacy during a McPherson Chamber of Commerce Connection Thursday.

Shultz, whose husband Clark is Mayor of Lindsborg and previously represented the district that includes all of McPherson County except the eastern and southern tiers of townships, had been appointed to serve the remainder of the term of the late Les Mason after he passed away in 2024, taking part in a special session that year.

The 73rd District is currently represented by Rick Wilborn, who made a last second filing for the seat to ensure a candidate after a long tenure in the Kansas Senate. It was Wilborn’s intent to serve just one term in the house.

Lori Schultz told Ad Astra News she intends to officially file after the first of the year.
