The Reno County Sabres Homeschool football team, coached by Lee Smith, enter their third year of competing against Eight-Man and 11-Man programs.

The Sabres open the 2025 season Sept. 5 at Stafford. In 2024, Reno County defeated Stafford 52-26.

The Sabres posted a 3-3 record in 2023 and improved to 6-2 in 2024.

Reno County has plenty of experience with 11 seniors and 11 juniors on the squad.

“We lost one senior off of the squad last year, so we return basically the whole team,” Smith said. “We have 34 young men out for high school football.  We will have lots of depth.  We will two-platoon to make use of that depth.”

The Reno County Sabres don’t have a home field and play all of their games on the road. The Sabres will play seven games against Eight-Man foes and two games against 11-man squads.

Reno County Sabres returning offensive statistical leaders from last year:

Passing: Junior quarterback Bo Smith 147-of-250, 1,978 yds, 24 touchdowns, 10 interceptions.

Receiving: Junior wide receiver Jett Smith 37 catches for 486 yards and nine TDs; senior wide receiver Bruce Kingsley 33 catches for 581 yards and 5 TDs.
