HUTCHINSON, Kan. — United Way of Reno County (UWRC) is excited to announce that Spark Tank Live! tickets and tables are now available for purchase. This high-energy evening will allow local nonprofit organizations the opportunity to pitch bold, community-focused solutions for their share of over $25,000 to address challenges in one of UWRC focus areas of youth opportunity, healthy community, financial stability and community resiliency.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 25 at the 1861 Club in Hutchinson. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., finalist pitches will begin at 6:00 p.m., with a dessert reception to follow at 8:30 p.m.
Four nonprofit organizations will take the stage to present their innovative ideas to a panel of distinguished judges. The judging panel includes Daniel Friesen, Co-founder and CIO of IdeaTek, Dr. Kay Hart, of the Hutchinson Clinic, Mike King, CEO of Lumineo Sign and Sheila Regehr, Corporate Affairs Manager for Dillons/Kroger. In addition to the judges’ decisions, audience members will vote to determine the recipient of the “People’s Choice Award”, further encouraging community engagement and boosting one nonprofits award amount that night by an additional $1,500.
This NEW event for UWRC not only provides vital financial support to local nonprofits but also serves as a platform to amplify their work, celebrate their vision, and build deeper community connections around shared challenges and goals.
“If you want to see what community change looks like in real time—this is the event to attend,” said Lacey Mill, UWRC CEO. “You’ll witness powerful stories, creative pitches, and the kind of innovation that fuels long-term impact. Whether you’re a business leader, donor, or a passionate community member, your presence will help make real change happen in Reno County.”
