HUTCHINSON, Kan. — In just 3 days the Hutchinson Fire Department’s (HFD) 2025 School Supply Drive raised $55,757.43 for the children of Reno County! This is the 7th year HFD has hosted the school supply drive and every year the community is very generous in their donations!

Each year HFD teams up with area teachers from Reno County School Districts in order to identify items that children in the community need. After the needs have been identified, HFD gets started planning the event. Entrance doors at school supply outlet stores in Hutchinson are manned for local donations. Supplies are then sorted, boxed, and taken to the schools where these donations can be utilized by the teachers. Teachers distribute to their students as needs arise. This process, several years in the making, has been honed to ensure accountability at each step of the process.

Supplies will be distributed August 6th and August 7th to thirty-four schools in Reno County that include USD 308, 309, 310, 311, 312, 313, private schools, and alternative learning schools.

HFD would like to thank the great citizens of Hutchinson and the surrounding area for coming out and supporting HFD in this great cause for our children.

Corporate sponsors of the event were also thanked. Sponsors included Allen Samuels Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Hutchinson, RCB Bank, Home Depot, Lowes, KMS LC, and Ad Astra Radio.
