HUTCHINSON, Kan. (July 8, 2025) – The 24th annual Festival of Remembrance, a yearly fundraising auction to benefit Hospice & Homecare of Reno County, has been scheduled for 6 PM, Friday, August 15th at the 1861 Club.
This night of fun includes silent and live auctions, raffle drawings for big ticket items and even a car giveaway. 2025 marks the 14th year that Mel Hambelton Ford has pledged a vehicle donation for this premier fundraising event. Don’t miss out on a chance to win a 3-year lease on a brand-new 2024 Ford Maverick. Pre-Event Raffle tickets are available now!
Tara Dahlstrom, Ancillary Services & Business Development Director for Hospice & Homecare of Reno County, said the auction is the organization’s largest fundraiser each year. Proceeds are earmarked to support our Hospice Services provided by the not-for-profit agency. Hospice and HomeCare serves a 50-mile radius of Hutchinson and cares for patients in their private homes, care facilities and at the Hospice House.
“After 23 years of hosting the Festival of Remembrance at Prairie Dunes our event has out grown that space” Dahlstrom said. “We are so excited to be in a new venue at the 1861 Club. With the move, we have so much more room to host so many more attendees! We have reserved tables and tickets on sale now.”
Dahlstrom said a portion of the funds raised at this year’s event will be allocated to offset unfunded care for those in need as well as the general maintenance of the agency’s inpatient
hospice care facility, the Hospice House, located on East 20th street. “Our agency never turns a hospice patient away, regardless of their ability to pay.”
Darla Wilson, Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Hospice & HomeCare of Reno County, said “There is no better example of Hutchinson’s benevolence than the Festival of Remembrance. No family is exempt in dealing with end of life issues, often on multiple occasions during one’s lifetime. Hospice & Homecare of Reno County is a 44-year old success story that ranks among the best in the state in providing care and consultation for community members dealing with terminal illness.”
