GREAT BEND, Kan. – Star Great Bend High School student athlete Ian Premer, who was ranked by 247sports as the No. 1 football recruit in Kansas, has committed to the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.

Premer chose the Fighting Irish over K-State, KU, and Iowa State. The 6’6″, 230 lb. upcoming Great Bend High School senior is ranked in the Class of 2026 by 247Sports Composite as the No. 1 football recruit in Kansas, the No. 44 recruit in the country, and the 4th best Tight End in America.

The GBHS Panther had received NCAA DI offers since his sophomore year, including from conferences like the SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12, and Pac-12. Premer eventually narrowed down his offers to Notre Dame, Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State.

He is also a basketball star with Great Bend, already eclipsing over 1,000 career points through three seasons. The forward averaged a double-double in the last two seasons and even earned a basketball offer from Kansas State, according to his X/Twitter page.

According to 247sports.com, Premer is one of three 4-star recruits in Kansas along with Manhattan’s JJ Dunnigan and Salina-Central’s Kaden Snyder, who both have committed to Kansas.
