McPherson County to Have Contested Races for Mayor in Lindsborg, Marquette and Moundridge and in Two McPherson County School Districts

McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — Ward 3 on the Lindsborg City Council and all three seats up this year on the Windom City Council will be filled by write in, as nobody filed for those positions by the Monday noon deadline. There will be contested races for the other three Council seats in Lindsborg, and for City Council in Canton, Inman, Marquette, and Moundridge, which had seven people five for two seats, and as such there will be a primary election in August.

Galva had three people file for the three spots available. There will also be contested races for Mayor in Lindsborg, Marquette and Moundridge, with single candidates filing in Inman and McPherson.

Two McPherson County school districts will have contested races in the November general election, as four candidates filed for three available spots on each board. In McPherson USD 418 Sherrie Sparks, Lara Vanderhoof, Perry McCabe and Biane Jackson have filed. McCabe, Sparks and Vanderhoof are the incumbents. In Moundridge USD 423 Arhea Unruh is on the ballot with incumbents Brad Jantz, Craig Galle and Ryan Koehn.

There were single filings for each seat in Smoky Valley USD 400, Canton-Galva USD 419 and Inman USD 448.
