FORT SCOTT, Kan. — The Kansas Department of Transportation shared a release on Oct. 10, 2024, that the BNSF Railway on the U.S. 54 railroad crossing at Fort Scott will close for repairs around 7 a.m. Monday until around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 (weather permitting).
Until the repairs are finished, there will be a detour with signs posted on Fort Scott city streets. This includes an 11-foot driving lane width restriction and vehicle length limit of 80 feet.
