Little River 66, Canton-Galva 6 – One of the most anticipated eight-man football games in recent years was a rout this time around, as Little River dominated from the start.

Derby 36, Hutchinson 3 – After posting three straight shutouts, the Salthawks found the top-ranked team in Class 6A a tougher proposition, as Derby pulled away in the third quarter.

Derby, which hadn’t been seriously tested yet, led 15-0 at halftime, but then outscored Hutchinson 21-0 in the third quarter.

Kade Smith led Hutchinson’s offense with 112 rushing yards, but the rest of the offense mustered just 29 yards, including none through the air.

Southeast of Saline 66, Lyons 0 – Southeast of Saline scored on their first possession, driving 60 yards in 10 plays, finishing the drive on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Gannon Jacobson to Tucker Thaxton. That set the tone in the Trojans’ comfortable Class 2A District 6 matchup.

Leading 20-0 after one quarter, Southeast of Saline tripled its lead by halftime.

Six different Trojans scored touchdowns.

Cunningham 50, Otis-Bison 0 – The top-ranked team in six-man, Cunningham, cruised to a 50-0 win at Otis-Bison.  In a game called at the 5:47 mark of the third quarter, the Wildcats used a three-headed monster of Dagim Reed, Will Wegerer and Luke Albers to move to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in 6-Man District 2.

Reed caught two passes for 103 yards, both going for touchdowns of 62 and 41 yards.  He also went 6 for 6 on kicks, knocking through five two-point PATs and adding a 27-yard FG.  Wegerer finished 6 for 11 for 203 yards and four touchdowns passing, while Albers had a 57-yard TD reception and a 55-yard punt return for a score.  Cunningham racked up 317 total yards.
