Wanda Jean Barnes, 91, of Westminster, Colorado, was born on August 29, 1934, in Simpson, Kansas. She was the daughter of Jim and Marjorie Collins and passed from this life on October 30, 2025, in Westminster, Colorado.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Cloyd Barnes on October 17, 1954.
Wanda accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 13, and her faith was of utmost importance to her throughout her life. She devoted herself to her family as a homemaker and worked as an administrator in support of her husband’s career as an aerospace engineer and bronze sculptor.
A talented artist, Wanda created beautiful drawings and oil paintings. Her many other gifts included teaching, singing, writing, cooking, baking, interior design and decorating, sewing, crocheting, and cross-stitch. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Those left to celebrate her life include her children and their spouses, Mark and Angela Barnes of Liberty Lake, Washington, and Stephanie and Greg Veasman of Arvada, Colorado; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd, on March 3, 2015; her parents, Jim and Marjorie Collins; and one grandson, Shane Barnes.
A celebration of life service will be held on November 20, 2025, at Covenant Living of Colorado, with Dr. Ronald Freeman officiating. Graveside services will follow on November 22, 2025, at Summit Cemetery near Beloit, Kansas, under the direction of Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kansas.
