Tammy Wyse, 65, passed away December 5th in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 16th, 1960 in Newton, Kansas to Thomas Harlan and Mary Ann (Wilson) Smith.
Tammy graduated from Newton High School in 1978. Over the years, she held a variety of positions in food service and management, taking great pride in the work she did serving the community. Her greatest passion, however, was serving her family as a mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, and sibling. Her gifts of food, care, comfort, and unconditional love were shared without hesitation to everyone in her life.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Dennis, bonus daughter, Tiffany Wyse (Michael Blanks), son, Gilbert Montano, Jr. (Jill), daughter, Tricia (Montano) Gingerich, and eleven grandchildren; sisters, Georgeann Weeks, Sherry Mayhill (Terry), Jeri Stucky (Tony Gooden), Barbara Smith, Brenda Hicks (Roe), Jana Morrison (Roger); and brother, Don Smith (Helen)
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepdad, Don Biggerstaff; brothers, Rick, Mike, and Fred Smith; and son, David Montano.
Cremation is planned. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Whitestone Mennonite Church in Hesston. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 15 at the church. Private family burial will take place later at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
