Marsha E. Thompson
1948-2025

Marsha Elaine Thompson, 77, of Hutchinson, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was born April 3, 1948, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Abraham Navarro and Eleanor Martinez Navarro.

Marsha attended school in Hutchinson and graduated from Trinity Catholic High School in 1966. She also attended Hutchinson Community College. Marsha was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson. While she had several jobs throughout her life, Marsha worked at First National Bank of Hutchinson for 40 years in various roles within the loan and customer service departments. Throughout her time with the bank, Marsha was an active member of Credit Professionals International, holding numerous roles including being on the board of directors from 1999-2000. She was also honored as the 2001 International Credit Professional of the Year. Marsha retired in 2023 and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as being an avid reader.

Marsha married Michael Thompson in 1968, and they later divorced. They had the opportunity to live in England, where they were stationed with the Air Force. Their oldest daughter was born there. Their second daughter was born three and a half years later after they had moved back to the U.S.

Survivors include: her children, Carmella (Wilhelm) de Beer and Sonya Huhn, both of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Sarah (Jonathan) Blanton, Cole Robbins, Makayla (Eli) Corino, and Tatyana (Tyree) Johnson; eight great-grandchildren, Kaden Robbins, Kolton Robbins, Max Blanton, Lily Phillips, Kassidy Corino, Jordan Corino, Nora Johnson, and AvaLynn Corino; one brother, Daniel Navarro of Hutchinson; one niece, Meghan Navarro; one nephew, Jacob (Lizbeth) Navarro; three great-nephews, Xavier Jaques, Alonzo Navarro, and Arthur Navarro; and one great-niece, Amaya Parker.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two infant brothers Michael and Joseph Navarro; and great-nephew Carson Webber.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Elliott Chapel. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking this link (click here to view the service) beginning at 1:45 p.m.

A luncheon will immediately follow the service. The luncheon will be located at the Family Living Center directly behind Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th Ave., Hutchinson.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.

Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday thru Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
