1924-2025

Marjorie Elizabeth (Franzen) Janzen, 101, of North Newton, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton. She was born on April 27, 1924 in rural Goessel, Kansas to John J. and Kornelia (Klassen) Franzen.

She was united in marriage to Calvin Glen Janzen on July 20, 1946. He passed away on November 19, 2004.

Marjorie worked in the Newton School District as a reading specialist and teacher. She was one of the first reading specialists in the area.

She was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Newton.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Barbara (Mark) Meinhardt of Phoenix, AZ, Beverly Dillon of Bullard, TX, and Craig (Jan) Janzen of Haysville; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Rodney Janzen; brothers, Eugene and Melvin Franzen; and son-in-law, Martin Dillon.
