Luvenia (Stanley) Bowen, passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service that touched countless lives.

Born on November 22, 1946, in Melvern, Kansas, Luvenia was the beloved daughter of Delbert and Anna Cleo (Whitney) Stanley.

On January 14, 2006, Luvenia married the love of her life, Darrel Bowen, in Burlington, Kansas.

Luvenia graduated from Melvern High School in 1964 and went on to earn her Master's degree, becoming a registered nurse. Luvenia worked at various nursing homes across the area, following in her mother's footsteps and dedicating her career to nurturing the elderly with dignity and respect.

Luvenia played a vital role in the upbringing of her beloved nieces, Rachael and Raymona.

Luvenia was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Burlington, having previously shared her musical gifts with the congregation at First Nazarene Church alongside her sister Marie. She loved singing, playing the piano, organ, and multiple other instruments.

Luvenia is survived by her husband, Darrel Bowen of Burlington; brother-in-law, Richard Linick of Burlington; nieces Rachael Linick of Burlington, and Raymona (Mark) Folsom of Ottawa; great-nephew, Trey Folsom of Ottawa, as well as many other extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marie, and other loved ones who have gone before her.

A visitation will be held at Jones Funeral home in Burlington from 6-8pm on October 29, 2026. A graveside service will be held on October 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Glendale Cemetery 1705 Quail Rd Waverly, KS.
