Karen Marie Brown, 76 of Thayer, Kansas passed away at the Life Care Center in Andover, Kansas on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Karen was born on January 29, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA, parents William and Hazel (Clark) Ranson. Karen graduated from Kearny High School in San Diego, CA. In 2014, Karen moved from Georgia to Thayer to be closer to her daughter. In her free time, Karen loved doing crosswords, putting puzzles together and spending time with her grandchildren. Karen’s faith was very important in her life. She was a devoted Christian.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Ranson, and grandson, Kyle Dodd.
Karen’s memory will carry on with her children, Darlene Dodd, Davina Brown, and Kristi Brown, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Following Karen’s wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home and the family will hold a private burial to lay Karen to rest.
