John D. Toews, 66, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Paramount Community Living and Rehab in Newton. He was born on September 21, 1959 in Moundridge, Kansas to John G. and Dorothy (Bickel) Toews.

He graduated from Moundridge High School with the class of 1978. He obtained his Associate’s of Arts degree in Agricultural Science from Hutchinson Community College.

John was united in marriage to Jean Ann Orem on July 26, 1986 at West Zion Mennonite Church in Moundridge. They shared 39 years of marriage. They were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer and Jaime.

He worked at AGCO in Hesston for 29 years, retiring in 2020.

John was active in 4-H and FFA, always enjoying the dairy and hog shows with his two daughters and his two grandkids in Oklahoma. He served on the McPherson County fair board and as swine superintendent for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Toews of Moundridge; daughters, Jennifer Conner (James Phillips) and grandkids, Abigail and Brantley Conner of Coweta, OK, and Jaime Toews (Jim Holderness) and grandkids, Jenna and Cyla Hollingsworth of Canton, KS; mother, Dorothy Toews; and two brothers, Bill and Duane Toews.

John was preceded in death by his father, John G. Toews.

Cremation is planned. Family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Moundridge Funeral Home. Private family graveside services will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sun City, Kansas at a later date.
