Jane Anita Wagoner
1937-2026

Jane Anita Wagoner, 89, died October 23, 2026, at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson. She was born April 30, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Ray William and Lily Mae (Brundidge) Alexander.

Jane attended St. Teresa High School in Hutchinson. Later in life, she devoted herself to what mattered most to her: her family. She embraced her role as a homemaker, dedicating her time to creating a loving home and raising her children.

Jane was a devoted member of the Church of the Holy Cross in Hutchinson, where her unwavering faith in God was a guiding light throughout her life. Her faith was more than a belief; it was something she lived each day through her service, dedication, and love for her parish community. She was an active member of the Holy Cross Altar Society for most of her life and proudly served as its president for two years. She also served as an adoration chapel coordinator, participated in The Cursillo Movement and the Serra Club of Reno County, ministered to the homebound as a Eucharistic minister, and graciously facilitated Bible study. Through her many years of service, Jane shared her faith with others and touched countless lives, leaving a lasting legacy of devotion, kindness, and love within her church community. Above all, Jane cherished the time she spent travelling with her husband Lanny, with her family and her shopping trips with her twin sister.

On February 4, 1956, she married Orlando “Lanny” James Wagoner, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Hutchinson. They shared over 64 years of marriage, prior to his death on December 28, 2020.

Jane is survived by: her children, Melissa (Jerry) DeCoster- Hoffman of Hutchinson, Daniel (Lori) Wagoner of Hutchinson, Bob (Kathy) Wagoner of Hutchinson, and Janie (Shawn) McLemore of Nickerson, KS; sister, Judy Miller; 9 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great- grandchildren.
