Elaine DelkHillsboro, KS

Elaine Marie Delk (Plowman), 78, was born in Coffeyville, Ks on January 16, 1947. She was a resident of Hillsboro, Ks. She passed away November 26, 2025. Elaine worked for the United States Postal Service, as a rural mail carrier, for 28 years before retiring in 2007. She enjoyed working outdoors, gardening, baking and sewing, which was a talent she carried from her mother.

She is survived by her husband, of 33 years, Jim Delk. Her brother Dewayne Plowman(Connie) and their children Carol & Richard. Daughter Jamie Montelaro, grandchildren: Amber (Toby), Colton, Brandi (Buddy), Ashlynn & Jacob Budde (son of Troy) and 7 great grandchildren: Weston, Madi, Paisley, Josiah, Colton Jr., Holly, Blakelyn. Step-daughters Sheila Jones (Becky), Mary Warden, Deb Montgomery (Shawn), Barb Hoberecht (Clay), grandchildren: Ronny (Mandy), Ashley, Jesse, Sarah, Hannah (Richard), Kaley, Derrick, Peyton, Charlie, Chase & Chandler and three great-grandchildren: Audree, Madyson and Emersyn. She was preceded in death by her mother Marie Plowman, father Harold Plowman and son Troy Peterson.

Elaine was a member of the Canton American Legion, VFW, McPherson Auxiliary 2715 and Daughters of the American Legion. Memorial contributions will be donated to St. Jude's in her honor.

Celebration of Life 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2025 at the Hillsboro American Legion.  Interment 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Elm Grove cemetery in Edna, Kansas.  Online condolences at www.jostfuneralhome.com
