Darick Dee Navarro, 47, died December 16, 2025, in rural Reno County. He was born December 6, 1978, in Lyons, to Jesse J. and Connie L. (Otto) Navarro.
Darick graduated from Nickerson High School and attended Southwestern College, Winfield. He served two years in the Kansas Army National Guard. Throughout Darick’s working career, he was employed at Lyons Salt Company, Dillons Warehouse, Siemens, and for the past 13 years, UPS. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 795 for 20 years.
Darick was an avid outdoorsman, from hunting and fishing to gardening and raising chickens. When he was not outdoors, he enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and playing Fornite. Darick’s hobbies included collecting gold, silver, and coins. Currently, he and Tonya were working to be a Goldback Distributor. Above all Darick loved supporting his daughter and son in all their school activities, from volleyball and track meets to band concerts.
Darick, known by his family and friends as “Big D”, was like a big Teddy Bear who exemplified kindness and love to everyone. His larger than life smile, along with his outgoing and genuine personality will be forever remembered by his family, friends, co-workers, and customers.
Darick and Tonya Hornbuckle married January 2008, in Hutchinson.
Darick is survived by: his wife, Tonya; son, Gabriel Navarro; daughter, Mia Navarro, all of the home; parents, Jesse and Connie Navarro; brother, Mario Navarro (Casey), all of Hutchinson; half-brother, Jessy Navarro (Hayley Bradley) of Clearwater; grandmother, Luella Otto of Mandan, ND; in-laws, Steven and Barbara Hornbuckle; brother-in-law, Jason Hornbuckle, all of Hutchinson; and numerous extended family members.
Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Inspire Church, 4290 N. Monroe, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kent Pedersen officiating. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Without a doubt, Darick and his best friend, Trey Jones, are ice fishing together, and arguing over who caught the biggest fish.
