April Lee Grames, 50, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Coffey County Hospital. She was born on April 25, 1975 at Stoneham, MA, the daughter of Edith Mary and Ronald Lee Piercy. April grew up in Hartford, KS and attended school in Hartford, Neosho Rapids and Burlington.

April's greatest wish was to have a loving family of her own. On March 19, 1999 April gave birth to her son Christian Lee, who was the light of her life. Her greatest joy was being a mom. She enjoyed following Chris's many school activities, and was very proud of the wonderful man he has become. April married the love of her life, Jason Eugene Grames on June 8, 2007, and became a stepmom to his son Malachi.

April loved being a wife and mother, her family was the most important thing to her. She spoke with her parents almost daily. She also loved her animals, having many pet dogs and cats through the years. April enjoyed watching Paranormal Investigations, following K-State and Chiefs football and going storm chasing with Jason.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother

Sally Rhynearson; grandfather, Calvin Piercy; and grandmother, Nelly Levigne.

April is survived by Jason, her loving husband of 18yrs; her son Christian Grames of Manhattan, KS; stepson Malachi (Breanna) Grames of Burlington, KS; parents Edith and Ronald Piercy of Cliffside, NC; honorary sister Rachel (Joe) Vojtko of Lawrence, KS; and many other relatives and friends.

Cremation is planned. A memorial will be held at a future date.
