Wilmore, Ky. – Three individuals from the CCCK Cross Country/ Track & Field Team are set to compete at the NCCAA National Championships hosted by Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky on May 6th-8th.
Cristina Laudan is competing in the High Jump after besting the NCCAA qualifying mark with a 1.62 meter mark set in the Coyote Classic in April. Camryn Frick will be competing in the Triple Jump after meeting the NCCAA National Qualifying Standard with a jump of 10.71 meters at the Tabor Invite. Chloe Clevenger is competing in the 3000 Steeplechase after she had a time of 13:08.38 and she turned in that performance at the SAC Championship at Nelson University.
Laudan, Frick and Clevenger head into NCCAA Nationals after stellar performances at the SAC Championships hosted by Nelson University on April 23rd-25th. Clevenger would finish 6th with her time of 13:08.38. Laudan couldn’t quite match her 1.62 meter mark from the Coyote Classic but her jump of 1.61 meters would be good enough to place 1st to win the High Jump. Camryn Frick would finish 2nd in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.38 meters.
On the Men’s side, Philip Soclo and Micaiah Stevenson ran in two events each. Philip first ran the 800m where he broke his own school record with a time of 2:04.94 and finished 12th. He then ran the 1500m and tallied a time of 4:27.83. As for Micaiah, he competed first in the 3000m Steeplechase and finished 9th with a time of 12:55.03 and then ran in the 5000m and recorded a mark of 18:40.66.
