Leavenworth, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Softball team took a trip up north to Leavenworth, Kan. for a match-up with huge playoff implications.

GAME 1: SWEDES 3, SPIRES 2

The first game was a nail-biter as both teams combined for five runs. Bethany would jump on the board first as Ulissa Rivas capitalized on an error by the catcher trying to catch Kalee Aguilar stealing second base. In the fourth, Emmaline Senecaut would score via an Addilyn Miller groundout to shortstop. The Spires would score once in the fifth and sixth inning each to knot it up 2-2. In the seventh, Miller would find herself in the place of Senecaut scoring via an Emma Pickering ground out to second base.

MacKenzie Yoder drew the start and had her best outing of the season lasting 5.0 innings allowing just two hits, one run, one walk and striking out one. Dylann Baker pitched the final 2.0 innings receiving the win.

GAME 2: SWEDES 0, SPIRES 4

The second game was more of a struggle as the Swedes only mustered five hits. Gabriella Nigro recorded the only multiple base hit with a double in the third inning.

Jordyn Stelzig pitched a complete game with 6.0 innings pitched; striking out one Spire.
