Lindsborg, Kan. – Coach Mike Grossner and the Bethany College Football program have announced that the third annual Alumni Football Spring Game will be held on Saturday, April 18 beginning at 10:00 AM.
The Swedes made a change this year that will appeal to plenty; the event is free of charge! As for the rules of the game, Coach Grossner will relay that to participants as they arrive. One rule that has already been set – and will forever be – is that the quarterback and kicking situations will NOT be live.
Head Coach Mike Grossner: “…it will be a great day for our alums to reconnect with our squad and coaches in a football setting. My vision is for this spring outing to grow through the years into an event that allows our seniors and alums to stay connected to the program in a fun and engaging way. A lot of our signed recruits and future prospects will be on hand to witness the old guard strapping it up one more time! I look forward to seeing you all padded up or in street clothes to support the SWEDES!”
Below is a breakdown of how the day will go:
8:15-9:15 am – ALUMNI Check in/Equipment Hand Out/Sign Waiver/Health Insurance Alumni
10:00-11:30 – Warm Up/7 0n 7/Alumni Scrimmage
11:45-? – Social OL Stuga-Alums, Seniors, Coaches, Game Officials, and all Family welcome! Sandwiches and cold drink provided.
For those participating, all you will need is your health insurance information, cleats/gloves, and a great attitude. I you plan to make the trip and take part in the event, please reach out to Coach Grossner @ [email protected].
As you may have noticed above, after the game, there will be a social at the Ol’ Stuga to allow players to heals their wounds and talk about the glory days.
