DALLAS, Texas — The Hesston College baseball team dropped all three games of a weekend series at Dallas Christian, showing flashes of offense but unable to overcome big innings by the Crusaders.

Game 1 — Dallas Christian 10, Hesston 3

Hesston struck first in the opening inning when Federico Moran led off with a solo home run to give the Larks a 1–0 lead. Dallas Christian answered quickly in the bottom of the first with a pair of RBI hits to take a 2–1 lead.

Dallas Christian added another run in the second inning before breaking the game open in the third. A triple and multiple extra-base hits highlighted a five-run inning as the Crusaders pushed the lead to 8–1.

Hesston responded in the fourth inning when Criss Morillo singled and later scored on a two-run home run from Corbin Broyles to cut the deficit to 8–3. The Larks threatened again in the fifth with runners in scoring position but were unable to capitalize.

Dallas Christian added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings to secure the 10–3 win. Moran and Broyles each homered to lead the Larks offensively.

Game 2 — Dallas Christian 6, Hesston 3

The Larks again jumped out early in game two. Hayden Kearney reached base and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly from Kaleb Wise to give Hesston a 1–0 lead. Dallas Christian answered in the bottom of the first to tie the game, then took a 2–1 lead in the second inning.

Hesston tied the game in the fourth inning when Manuel Aranguren singled to drive in a run, and the Larks took a 3–2 lead in the fifth as Wise doubled and later scored on a single from Corbin Broyles.

Dallas Christian responded in the fourth with two runs to retake the lead at 4–2 and added two more runs in the sixth inning, capitalizing on a Hesston error and timely hitting to extend the lead to 6–3.

The Larks were unable to mount a comeback late as Dallas Christian closed out the game.

Game 3 — Dallas Christian 9, Hesston 7

Hesston came out strong in the series finale, scoring three runs in the first inning behind RBI hits from Federico Moran and Samuel Vasquez. The Larks added another run in the second on a sacrifice fly from Criss Morillo to take a 4–0 lead.

Dallas Christian answered in the third inning with three runs, aided by a pair of Hesston errors. The Crusaders took the lead in the fourth inning with three more runs, again capitalizing on defensive miscues to go up 6–5.

The Larks battled back throughout the game. Trentis Lane delivered a key two-run home run in the seventh inning to keep Hesston within striking distance, and Manuel Aranguren added multiple hits to pace the offense.

Dallas Christian added two runs in the sixth and another in the eighth to extend the lead, and despite Hesston scoring late, the comeback fell short in a 9–7 loss.

Hesston finished with 12 hits in the finale, led by Vasquez and Aranguren, but defensive errors proved costly as the Larks dropped the series.

The Larks will return home Thursday, April 16 for a nine-inning game against Southwestern College.
