New School Year, Be Wise on What You Share Online

The McPherson County Sheriff’s Office is reminding parents to be careful about what they share online as the new school year begins.

Officials say parents should avoid posting information such as a child’s full name, school, teacher, siblings, home information, height or birthday. They say strangers can use those details to learn where children live or go to school.

The sheriff’s office encourages families to preserve back-to-school memories while protecting personal information.
