McPherson County commissioners approved a 10-year property-tax abatement for Viega’s planned expansion.
The company plans a 40,000-square-foot raw-materials storage facility, with the expansion expected to eventually add 40 new jobs. Viega currently employs more than 600 people.
Commissioners cited an estimated $32 million in new personal income for the county over the next decade as a factor in the abatement decision. Viega’s McPherson location serves as a central base for North American operations for the company’s plumbing, heating, and pipe joining systems.
