The Barton Community College men’s golf team had 10 players compete Thursday at the two-round I-135 Tour event held at Hesston Municipal Golf Course.
With no team scores compiled, the individual competition featured a 48-player field consisting primarily of developmental players from area four-year colleges and universities.
Antonio Vidal led the Cougar contingent with matching 1-over 72 rounds, finishing tied for third at 2-over 144. Hein van den Berg joined Vidal in the top five, opening with a 1-over 72 before closing with a 73 to earn a share of fifth at 3-over 145.
Noah Brewster gave Barton a third top-15 finisher, carding rounds of 74 and 78 to finish tied for 15th at 10-over 152.
Brady Jackson improved by two strokes between rounds, following an opening 79 with a 77 to finish tied for 21st at 14-over 156. Julien Rosain placed 30th at 17-over 159, opening with a 78 before closing with an 81.
Rasmus Ruhala turned in one of Barton’s better opening rounds with a 75 before slipping to an 85 in the afternoon, finishing tied for 31st at 18-over 160.
Ian Folger produced the Cougars’ biggest turnaround of the day, shaving 14 strokes off his opening-round 90 with a closing 76 to finish tied for 39th at 24-over 166. Tatum Ford matched Folger’s total and placing, rebounding from an opening 85 with an 81.
Caden Fletcher posted matching rounds of 84 to finish 41st at 26-over 168, while Ethan Babb rounded out the Barton contingent in 46th at 39-over 180, improving 10 strokes from his opening 95 with a second-round 85.
Barton concludes its fall schedule Oct. 12-13 at the Ottawa Invitational held at Eagle Bend Golf Course in Lawrence.
