The Hays-Thomas More Prep-Marian girls golf team placed second and the Great Bend squad sixth at the Dodge City Invitational Thursday at the par-75, 5,119-yard Mariah Hills Golf Course.
Garden City won the team title with a 320 score, followed by TMP 382, Hays High 387, Liberal 436, Dodge City 450 and Great Bend 467.
The top 10 golfers earned medals.
TMP’s Bryann Schoepf placed third with a 75 score.
Garden City’s Brooke Savolt and Wichita Southeast’s Alina Lam both shot 71s to lead the field, with Savolt beating Lam in a playoff for first place.
Three other Garden City golfers medaled: Aileen Anderson, fourth, 77; Mega Burr, fifth, 81; and Breckyn Lucas, seventh, 91. Emerson Huber tied for 21st, 106; and Lakyn Warren, tied for 24th, 107
TMP’s Emma Wasinger tied for 12th, 99; Hannah Flax placed 16th, 102; and Paige Koenigsman tied for 21st, 105.
Great Bend was paced by Sammy Fleming, who tied for 17th, 103; Kailee Gerhardt, tied for 27th, 109; Noemi Valenzuela, 36th, 122; Carrie Hunt, 42nd, 133; and Kinsly Stukey, 48th, 143.
Hays High placed two golfers in the top 10: Kinley Pfannenstiel, sixth, 86; and Gina Schumacher, tied for ninth, 97.
Hays’ Jacy McMurtie placed 11th, 98; Brooklyn Koerner, tied for 12th, 99; Hailey Robben, tied for 19th, 105; Elsa Brungardt, tied for 24th, 107; Isla Erbert, 33rd, 117; Claudia Brungardt, 34th, 118; and Lillie Melvin, 41st, 131.
