COLBY, Kan. – The top Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference finishers as part of a loaded field at the Missouri Southern State University Southern Stampede has led to KJCCC Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for Cloud County Community College sophomore Faith Jepchumba and Allen Community College freshman Damian Spurrier.
Faith Jepchumba (Cloud County) – KJCCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Jepchumba put together her best time of the season at the Missouri Southern State University Southern Stampede, running a time of 18:32.43 on the 5,000-meter course. The sophomore placed 23rd out of 270 runners and was the highest-finishing NJCAA runner in the field.
Damian Spurrier (Allen) – KJCCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Spurrier was the highest-finishing KJCCC athlete at the 2026 Missouri Southern Stampede, finishing 62nd out of 309 runners in a field loaded with NCAA Division 1, NCAA Division 2, NAIA, and NJCAA schools. The freshman finished with a time of 26:09.80 in his first 8,000-meter race of his collegiate career.
