The Kansas Department of Transportation is currently repairing a short stretch of pavement 6 miles north of Chanute on U.S. 169 in Allen County.
Work involves full-depth concrete repair at up to four locations in each lane. The construction zone starts about a mile northeast of 1150th Street and ends north of Arizona Road in Allen County. A traffic light is guiding one lane of traffic through the work zone. There is a lane restriction of 10 feet in the work zone.
Travelers will experience delays of no more than 10 minutes.
The project is expected to be completed before Memorial Day weekend, conditions permitting. A similar project on U.S. 169 south of U.S. 54, which started in April, was completed this week.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in southeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/
