Nominations now being accepted for Allen County Magistrate Judge

Nominations are now being accepted by the 31st Judicial District Nominating Commission to fill the District Magistrate Judge position in Allen County Judge Charles Apt III is retiring from June 10th.

To be eligible, a nominee must be a graduate of a high school, a secondary school or equivalent, either a lawyer admitted to practice in Kansas or Able to pass an examination given by the Supreme Court to become certified within 18 months of appointment, and a resident of Allen County at the time of appointment or when taking office and while holding office.

Nominations, which can be self-made, must come on an official application form signed by the nominee and available from the Clerk of the District Court offices in Iola, Fredonia, Erie and Yates Center, or online at www.kscourts.gov/judge/vacancies. 

Deadline to submit nominations is noon Monday, June 15th, and those can be submitted online at [email protected], or mailed to Justice Larkin Walsh, the non-voting chair of the nominating commission, at
