CHC/SEK Offering Walk-In Flu Vaccinations

The Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas is encouraging everyone six months and older to receive an annual flu vaccine as flu season begins.

Dr. Linda Bean, CHC/SEK chief medical officer, said yearly vaccination helps protect against the influenza viruses expected to be most common that season.

“Getting vaccinated now allows time to build immunity before flu season peaks in the winter,” Bean said.

Flu vaccinations are available on a walk-in basis at all CHC/SEK clinics in Kansas and Oklahoma. No appointment is necessary, and financial assistance is available.

CHC/SEK also encourages frequent handwashing and avoiding close contact with people who are ill to help reduce the risk of flu.
