The Allen County Board of County Commissioners enacted a countywide burn ban Tuesday due to ongoing dry and windy conditions.
The ban, which remains in effect until midnight Sunday, Aug. 16, prohibits all open burning and controlled burns throughout the county.
Officials say enhanced fire conditions continue in several areas of Kansas as excessively dry and windy weather increases the risk of wildfires.
