IOLA, Kan. — Allen Community College will celebrate the opening of its new disc golf course with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, Sept. 18.
The ceremony, hosted by Allen Community College Student Life, will begin at 2 p.m. at the launch pad for Hole No. 1, located in front of the residence halls on the Iola campus. Students, staff and community members are invited to attend.
The new 18-hole disc golf course winds throughout the Allen Community College campus and is open to the public. Each hole features a designated launch pad, giving players a complete course to enjoy while exploring the campus.
Players can also use a mobile app while playing the course to track scores, get directions and view the course map.
Friday’s ribbon cutting will officially mark the opening of the course and celebrate the addition of a new recreational opportunity for both the college and Iola community.
