GILLETTE, Wyoming – The Hutchinson Community College women’s soccer team had a tough offensive outing on Sunday, falling to No. 10 Cochise College 3-0 at the Pronghorn Soccer Field.
The Blue Dragons lost both games played in Gillette to fall to 0-2 for the season. Hutchinson opens its open season on Friday against NOC-Enid at the Salthawk Soccer Complex.
Cochise, a national tournament qualifier in 2025, allowed only four total shots to the Blue Dragons, no shot on goal. Cochise had 17 total shots.
Olivia Tamaki fired two shots, while Poppy Smith and Keyla Fernandez took one shot each.
Blue Dragon freshman goalkeeper Janna Helshani made seven saves.
Cochise scored two first half goals from Tiia Kimonen in the 12th minute and a penalty kick from Samantha Alurralde in the 30th minute.
Cochise made it 3-0 with a penalty kick by Chayton Barron in the 71st minute.
