Experience the night sky with the Cosmosphere from atop beautiful Coronado Heights! Starry, Starry Night at Coronado Heights returns November 14!

Reserved shuttle passes are filled, but thanks to the Salina Astronomy Club, additional viewing opportunities and programming will be available at Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum. Three to four high-powered telescopes will be set up in Heritage Square for those unable to reserve a ride to Coronado Heights or prefer less rocky surfaces. Beginning at 5:45pm, Dorothy Hanna will discuss “Constellations,” David Hanson will discuss “Navigation,” and Jeffrey Kasoff will discuss “The Interstellar Medium (ISM).” Each discussion will run approximately 20 minutes. The Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum offers ADA accessibility. and is located at 120 Mill Street.

Access to the Cosmosphere telescopes is limited to those with shuttle reservations to ensure the best planetary viewing and to keep the event safe. Traffic to and from Coronado Heights for this event needs to be via the shuttles to limit the light pollution for viewers.

Additional programming for the evening will include “Glories of Our Night Sky: Wonders and Worries,” from National Geographic Photographer, Jim Richardson. Richardson’s program will take place at the J.O. Conference Center’s Banquet Hall and will be repeated at 7:00pm and 8:00pm. Each program lasts 30-45 minutes. Enter from the south lobby (look for the signs).
