KDOT to Host Open House U.S. 56 Expansion Study

Join KDOT on Tuesday, December 9th and Wednesday, December 10th for an open house event to learn more about potential improvements along the U.S. 56 corridor from McPherson to the U.S. 77 intersection east of Marion.

KDOT will study 36 miles of U.S. 56 in McPherson and Marion counties to develop project design options.

The study will focus on adding paved shoulders and identifying locations for passing lanes. It will also explore opportunities to prioritize safety along the corridor including consolidating highway access points and intersection improvements. The passing lanes portion of this project was identified as a top priority in District 2 at 2023 Local Consult.

The meeting information will also be available online at the time of the meeting for review and comment through December 24th
