WSU Announces Your House on the Prairie Campaign

WICHITA, Kan. (goshockers.com) – Wichita State Athletics has announced a marketing campaign for the 2023-24 athletic season focused on providing Shocker fans a sense of ownership, belonging and pride within the program.

The purpose of the “Your House on the Prairie” campaign is to connect deeply with Shocker fans by giving them ownership over their Shocker fan experience and providing them a place that feels like home. This campaign was collaboratively designed as a result of direct feedback from our fan base paired with innovative fan experience practices throughout the sports entertainment industry.

“Over the last 12 months, our staff has conducted numerous listening sessions and a comprehensive fan survey with our supporters,” WSU Director of Athletics Kevin Saal said. “Shocker Nation, we’ve heard you! This campaign is designed to connect Shocker Nation and our teams, and to further improve the atmosphere and experience at our athletic venues.”

The “Your House on the Prairie” campaign is built upon three core principles including:

  1. Encouraging Shocker fans to have pride in creating one of the top gameday atmospheres in all of college athletics
  2. Empowering Shocker fans to provide input and have a say in what their gameday experience looks like
  3. Listening to Shocker fans and acting with a fan-first approach to provide amenities and comfort that makes Shocker athletic facilities feel like a second home to them on gamedays

WSU is committed to continued efforts on season ticket holder appreciation, prioritization on affordability for families and an emphasis of collaboration and innovation for consistent enhancement of the fan experience.

Specific information on these initiatives will be announced in the coming months including season ticket holder perks, concession menu enhancements, arena enhancements, fan friendly ticket pricing and game presentation enhancements.
