The Derby Twins scored four runs in the final two innings Thursday, and the Twins went on to beat the Hutchinson Monarchs 9-4 at Hobart-Detter Field
Derby never trailed, scoring two runs in the second inning and another in the third, in staking an early 3-0 lead.
Michael Barham got the Monarchs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning with a two-run single.
Drew Bugner belted a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Moanrchs, which got them back to 4-3, and Barham’s RBI single the next inning answered another Derby run.
But the Twins shut down the Monarchs from there.
Cooper Harris took the loss on the mound for the Monarchs, giving up three runs in three innings.
The Monarchs fall to 15-7 and will travel to Derby on Friday.
