Aleya Ravenstien scored 20 points, and Blaine Locke added 12, as the Sterling girls started the third quarter strong in pulling away for a 54-38 win on Tuesday at Trinity Catholic.
The Black Bears’ full-court defense caused problems in the third quarter, as they started the quarter on an 11-0 run, building on a 31-21 halftime lead.
Ciena Maskil led Trinity with 13 points, the third time in four games she scored at least 12 points. The Celtics also welcomed back junior forward Eilley Cost from illness, and she had seven points in her season debut, including sinking her first career 3-pointer.
Sterling improved to 3-5, while Trinity fell to 0-7.
