Sterling and Inman top Class 1A in the latest (Week 3) Kansas Football Coaches Association poll released on Wednesday.
The two 2-0 teams will hook up in a showdown Friday night at Sterling. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Sterling has victories over Moundridge (53-21) and Hutchinson Trinity Catholic (55-0). Inman has pitched two shutouts this season (71-0 at Sedgwick and 41-0 at home against Marian).
Sterling has won the last three games against Inman (60-47 in 2025, 21-20 in 2024 and 35-18 in 2023. Inman defeated Sterling 40-0 in 2022 and 26-21 in 2021.
In the Kansas Sports Central football poll, Sterling and Inman are ranked first and third. Smith Center is ranked second, Thomas More Prep-Marian fourth and Rossville fifth.
