Reno County Sabres, CHIEF Thunder Volleyball Teams Take Titles at Sabres Invitational

The Reno County Sabres volleyball teams hosted the Sabres Invitational Saturday at Sterling College’s Gleason Center.

The Sabres captured the junior high B team division and the junior high A team division.

CHIEF Thunder from Manhattan won the high school JV division and high school varsity division. CHIEF is the acronym for Christian Homes in Educational Fellowship.

Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School placed second in the varsity division.

“Another very successful Sabres volleyball invitational is in the books,” said Sabres coaches on the team’s Facebook page. “A great day of competition. Congratulations to our 1st place winners. Thanks to all who participated and supported the event! Also thanks to our amazing Sabre volunteers for helping pull off this event.”

Sponsors were Gambino’s Pizza, VYPE Sports, Hog Wild Pit BBQ, Glenn’s Bulk Food, Smith’s Market and Jackson’s Dairy.
