McPherson Women’s Basketball Set for 2025-26 Season Under New Direction

McPherson, Kan. – A new era begins for McPherson College Women’s Basketball as the Bulldogs enter the 2025-26 season under the direction of first-year head coach, Alex Moorehead.

Moorehead joins McPherson with more than a decade of coaching experience across collegiate, high school, and international levels. Most recently, he served as the Head Women’s Basketball coach at Ave Maria University, where he guided the program to a 67-51 record, four straight Sun Conference semifinals appearances, and a regular season and tournament runner-up finish in 2023-34. His debut season in 2021-22 was highlighted by several accolade, including Sun Conference Coach of the Year, WBCA Region 6 Coach of the Year, and WBCA NAIA Coach of the Year Finalist honors.

After a challenging 2024-25 campaign, the Bulldogs look to take significant steps forward under new leadership. Key returners for McPherson include Gillian RodgersRaeghan Borman, and Taylor Berkheimer. Rodgers averaged 9.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 26 minutes per game last season, while Borman and Berkheimer both averaged over four points and 10 minutes per contest.

McPherson also welcomes several new faces expected to make an immediate impact. Dana Imankulvoa, a junior guard transferring from Pratt Community College, started 27 games last season averaging 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 31.4 minutes per game. Joining her is Carlasia Moore, a transfer from Baton Rouge Community College, who appeared in 21 games and contributed 8.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 29.9 minute per game.

The Bulldogs open their season on Tuesday, October 28th at 6:30 p.m. when they host Hesston College at Holman Fieldhouse. KCAC play begins on November 15th, as McPherson travels to Winnfield, Kansas to face Southwestern College. The Bulldogs close out the 2025 calendar year with a tough matchup against Friends University, then open 2026 with another strong opponent in Evangel University. Senior night is set for February 21st, when McPherson hosts Oklahoma Wesleyan University in its final regular-season contest.
