WICHITA, Kan. – On a hot and windy day at Crestview Country Club, the McPherson Bullpups opened their 2026 season with a 6th Place finish in the Andover Invitational.
In a loaded field, Kapaun-Mt. Carmel finished with a score of 319 as a team, taking first place by 33 strokes over Wellington in second with 352. Andover, Augusta and Bishop Carroll rounded out the top five ahead of McPherson in sixth.
Sophomore Lleyton Kuhn was the top finisher for the Bullpups, tying for 18th and shooting a 91 for the day, while Pera Bauer finished in the top half of the field tying for 26th. Kapaun’s Ximena Sarinana took the individual gold by six strokes, shooting a 1-over 73 for the tournament.
McPherson head coach Treg Fawl stated: “Our girls struggled a little bit, but battled till the very end. We will continue to work and get better.”
The Bullpup varsity is back in action on Tuesday, September 8th at the Salina Central Invitational at Salina Municipal Golf Course.
