HUTCHINSON, Kan. – On a night where the McPherson boys soccer team did a lot of things well, finding the goal eluded them in a 3-0 loss at Hutchinson on Thursday.

According to head coach Chris Adrian, the Bullpups came out on top in nearly every statistical category.  Despite six shots on goal, they were unable to score in the end.  Goalkeeper Hunter Schroeder did his best to keep his team in the game with six saves on the night.

“Unfortunately, that’s soccer sometimes,” said Adrian.  “Despite the disappointment, there were several positives to take away from this game.  Multiple players turned in their best performances of the season, playing with confidence, composure and belief.”  He added: “Seeing that growth is exciting, and it reinforces that this team is heading in the right direction.”

McPherson is now 8-5 on the season and will have three matches next week.  They play Augusta in a makeup game for Senior Night on Monday, travel to Hesston on Tuesday and finish the regular season at Circle on Thursday.

In Thursday night’s JV contest, Malachi Griggs scored two goals, but the Bullpups fell to the Salthawks 3-2.
