Lyons picked up its second road win of the season with a 23-14 victory over Salina Sacred Heart.
Lyons answered Sacred Heart’s opening-drive touchdown with a score of its own to take a 7-6 lead, as Detrell Stanley hauled in a 46-yard touchdown pass from Quanick Hamilton.
The Lions scored again in the second quarter when Stanley and Hamilton connected on a 3-yard touchdown pass, giving Lyons a 13-6 halftime lead.
Lyons turned to the running game in the second half, with Xander Young scoring on a 62-yard run. Hamilton completed 6 of 7 passes for 91 yards, while Stanley caught five passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
The Lyons offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage in the second half, helping Young rush for 201 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.
Lyons improves to 2-1 and will return home to face Ellinwood on Friday.
