Little River boys, Inman Girls Capture Titles at Sterling Relays

The Little River boys and Inman girls track teams captured the team titles at the Sterling Relays Thursday at the Sterling College track.

The Little River boys scored 125 points, followed by Sterling with 98, Inman 90, Lyons 85, Bennington 49, Fairfield 31, Nickerson 29, Ellsworth 28, Ell-Saline 15 and Burrton 3.

Inman won the girls title with 137 points, followed by Ellsworth 105, Bennington 83, Little River 66, Sterling 49, Nickerson 47, Ell-Saline 20, Lyons 12, Hutchinson Central Christian 5 and Fairfield 3.

Little River’s Tristan Bristow set new school record with his first-place finish in the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 10.92 seconds.

Cole Dieball broke the school discus record with a first-place toss of 177 feet, 8 inches. He also won the shot put with an effort of 44-3.

Christopher Norez broke the school javelin record with his first-place toss of 188 feet, 8 inches.

The Little River boys also placed first in the 4×100-meter relay (44.17) seconds).

Other area boys placing first were Lyons’ Jace Thompson, 400 (53.82); Inman’s Tyler Martisko, 800 (1:57.81); Inman’s Riley Roots, 1600 (4:50.35); Nickerson’s Aiden Brinkley, 3200 (10:46.36); Sterling’s Zane Farney, 110 hurdles (14.82) and 300 hurdles (40.32); Inman, 4×400 relay (3:34.61); Fairfield, 4×800 relay (9:07.88); Sterling’s Jacob Lewis, high jump (6-2); and Inman’s Korbyn McLellan, long jump (19-9.5).

First-place area girls were Inman’s Olivia Brunk, 100 (12.69); Sterling’s Julia Kilgore, 200 (26.19) and 400 (59.67); Inman’s Lily Heflin, 800 (2:25.54); Inman’s Brooklyn Black, 100 hurdles (15.03) and 300 hurdles (48.11); Inman, 4×100 relay (51.3), 4×400 relay (4:08.66); Little River’s Havana Olander, triple jump (37-4); Inman’s Allison Schrag, discus (122-7); and Nickerson’s Delaney Childs, javelin (121-0).
